Assessing the socio‐economic effects of Carbon Capture, Utility and Storage investment from the perspective of carbon neutrality in China

Carbon Capture, Utility and Storage (CCUS) is essential for achieving carbon neutrality has great development potential in China. CCUS, as a long-term new investment, can address global warming significant social economic impacts. This paper assessed the socio-economic effects of CCUS investment based on China by combining dynamic GTAP model Input-output method. The result indicates that: may accumulate US$ 67.09 billion 776.61 from 2026 to 2030 2056 2060, respectively, International Energy Agency (IEA) scenario. Moreover, corresponding value increase 8.26 743.21 US dollars Asian Development Bank (ADB) scenario; stimulate gross value-added 1.2 10.4 ADB IEA scenarios, respectively. mainly promote machinery industry, metal manufacturing other service industries, power equipment light processing industry; Furthermore, scenarios showed that industrial indirectly create about 12,796 103,886 jobs, 85 million 692 labor employment income, 2030. values 0.82 0.85 5,168 5,396 2060.
